Dehydration or extreme loss of moisture, is very harmful for the body. Dehydration can be caused by travellers' diarrhoea and physical efforts such as walking, cycling, mountain climbing and sports. Small children and the elderly in particular are more vulnerable to dehydration. The lack of moisture and the accompanying loss of salts from the body can be restored with oral rehydration solution sachets (ORS).
ORS sachets are a glucose-salt preparation that promote the absorption of moisture by the intestines when defecation is watery or when there is excessive perspiration. Each box contains 12 sachets of ORS (6 duo-sachets) to be dissolved in water. Dissolve one sachet in one glass of water.
